The following are some important things to remember.

Please do not send your child to school before 8 a.m.
We are encouraging students to go home for lunch if possible.
Please remember:

Parent Council’s hot lunch ordered program will start in October

School start time is 8:10 Monday - Friday.
Lunch on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday is from 12:03 to 12:43.
Wednesday's lunch is from 11:50 to 12:25.
Dismissal time on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday is at 3:00
Wednesday dismissal is at 2:30 p.m.
Friday dismissal is at 12:02.

Picture Day – On September 2nd, LifeTouch will be coming in to take our pictures again this year.
Volunteers are welcome as long as you have the necessary paperwork handed in at the office (Vulnerable Sector check).

If your child stays at school for lunch, they will be required to follow the given rules. If they choose not to do so, it will result in them not being allowed to stay at school for lunch.
Again this year, students will not participate in field trips, athletics, or off-campus events until the parents complete the "Risk Acknowledgement" form, which will be sent to you before the event or tryouts. No phone permission or a signed note can be accepted as giving your child permission to participate. The form(s) are necessary for insurance purposes and to keep you informed. Thanks

Kindergarten

Kindergarten Orientation will be on September 1 at 12:45
Tentative Fridays: Oct 16, 30; Nov 20; Dec 11; Jan 8, 22; Feb 5, 26; March 5, 19; April 2, 30.

Grades 1- 4

Meet at the south entry doors
Morning classes start at 8:10
Elementary Assembly at 11:00
Lunch is at 12:03
SWIMMING as per the schedule that will be sent home

Grades 5 - 6

Meet at the east entry doors
Morning classes start at 8:10
Elementary Assembly at 11:00
Lunch is at 12:03
SWIMMING as per the schedule that will be sent home

Junior/Senior high classes - The following grades will meet at the stated time for approximately 1 ½ -2 hours in the indicated classroom, then go home for lunch, and come back at 12:43 for an opening assembly in the theatre and then afternoon classes till 3:00, as per outline.

Grade 7 meet in Cl 105 (Mr. Iwaasa’s room) for orientation at 8:10.
Grade 8 meet in Cl 107 (Ms. McDonald’s room) for orientation at 9:10.
Grade 9 meet in Cl 104 (Mr. Fletcher’s room) for orientation at 10:10.

Families with new students who require bus service must contact the Westwind School Transportation Office to register.

Students may qualify for bus service when they live:
• More than 1.6 km from their school for Kindergarten to Grade 6
• More than 2.0 km from their school for Grades 7 to 12
Please register new students as soon as possible to help ensure transportation arrangements are in place for the 2026/2027 school year.
