John's, NL with over 10 years of private lesson teaching experience, including brass (trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba), piano, and voice. Her musical leadership experience also includes teaching music in the NLESD and two years as music director of the St. James United Church Senior Choir. Having recently moved to Stephenville Crossing, Emma is excited for the official launch of her new music studio
! Emma holds a Bachelor of Music (Honours) specializing in Trumpet, a Bachelor of Music Education, an Orff Level 1 Certificate, and has completed additional Masters-level courses in music education. She has received numerous awards for academic excellence, and was selected by the NLTA Music Special Interest Council for the 2019 CMEA Builder's Award for Newer Teachers for her accomplishments in supporting the development of indigenous music traditions in Nain, Labrador. She has significant experience in trumpet and choral performance in a variety of settings, including as a musician in the Canadian Armed Forces for 8 years, and performances in large-scale stage productions in St. Emma values ongoing professional growth and is completing her Royal Conservatory of Music Grade 5 Piano exam this summer. She is also now completing her training for her very special new program to provide for the Bay St. George area from the Royal Conservatory of Music: Smart Start early childhood music education.
