All Busses are Now here and on time.

There was a message sent that they could be late, but that is not the case.

Any plans made for parents coming to pick up their students instead of them going on the bus will stay in place unless we hear otherwise.

Sorry for the confusion.

🧡 Orange Shirt Day, Truth and Reconciliation, and Mi’kmaq Heritage Month

Tomorrow, September 29, G.R. Saunders Elementary will recognize Orange Shirt Day. Students and staff are encouraged to wear orange as we honour the children who attended residential schools, remember those who never returned home, and recognize Survivors, their families, and communities.

On September 30, we will observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, continuing our learning about the history and lasting impacts of residential schools and the important work of reconciliation. There will be no school Wednesday, September 30.

Then, on October 1, we will recognize Treaty Day, which also marks the beginning of Mi’kmaq History Month in Nova Scotia. Throughout the month, students will have opportunities to learn more about Mi’kmaq history, culture, traditions, contributions, and the importance of the Peace and Friendship Treaties.

Every Child Matters. 🧡
