Congratulations to teacher Graham Chandler, who will be inducted later this year in the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame along with the 2003 Halifax Athens Women’s Soccer Team.

“The 2003 Halifax Athens made history as the first Nova Scotia women’s soccer team to win a
senior national championship, capturing gold at the Canadian Senior Soccer Championships.
Their dramatic victory over Quebec in the final marked a breakthrough moment for women’s
soccer in the province and inspired generations of players to follow.”

Mr. Chandler continues to coach and inspire young soccer players here at Stanstead. Congratulations!

Félicitations à notre enseignant Graham Chandler, qui sera intronisé plus t**d cette année au Temple de la renommée des sports de la Nouvelle-Écosse, en compagnie de l’équipe féminine de soccer Halifax Athens de 2003.

« L’équipe Halifax Athens de 2003 est entrée dans l’histoire en devenant la première équipe féminine de soccer de la Nouvelle-Écosse à remporter un championnat national senior, décrochant la médaille d’or au Championnat canadien senior de soccer. Sa victoire spectaculaire contre le Québec en finale a marqué un tournant pour le soccer féminin dans la province et a inspiré des générations de joueuses à suivre ses traces. »

M. Chandler continue d’entraîner et d’inspirer les jeunes joueurs et joueuses de soccer ici, à Stanstead College. Félicitations!
