Return to Work in Atlantic Canada's Marine Sector

The survey “Return to Work After Work Injury or Illness: Challenges for Marine Workers in Atlantic Canada” has closed. Thank you for your time spent participating in this study.

Dear Marine Worker,
You are invited to participate in an online interview if you are a marine worker (seafaring, longshore, fishing, aquaculture and seafood processing sectors) who experienced a work-related injury or illness that happened in Atlantic Canada in the last 10 years. The study aims to evaluate how marine workers experience return to work after work injury/illness and related impacts on family.

You will be asked questions about your experience of getting injured or ill at work, your experience with compensation (if applicable), whether/how you returned to work, and any impacts on your family associated with your time off work, accessing medical treatments and other injury/illness-related issues, your age, etc. and employment (at the time of the injury/illness and subsequent to the injury). The interview will require 60-90 minutes of your time, and will be audio-recorded.
