It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Ron Joy, whom we had the pleasure of seeing recently at the St. FX Alumni Reception & Student Send-Off.
Ron studied at St. Francis Xavier University, earning Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees in 1963. He remained a devoted alumnus of St. FX throughout his life and was an active member of the Newfoundland and Labrador St. FX Alumni Association.
Ron wore his X-Ring with great pride. Just three short weeks ago, he attended the reception and send-off for incoming and returning students, offering his support and encouragement to the next generation of Xaverians and reminding them to live the university motto:
Quaecumque Sunt Vera — Whatsoever things are true.
Our sincere condolences go out to Ron’s family, friends, and the entire St. FX community. His pride in St. FX and his commitment to supporting future generations of Xaverians will be fondly remembered.
