The 2026 Atlantic Universities’ Teaching Showcase is taking place online on Wednesday, October 14th. We are pleased to announce Dr. Diane Gutiw as the keynote speaker.

Dr. Gutiw is the Vice President, Global AI Research Centre Lead at CGI and is currently the Co-Chair of the Canadian government’s Advisory Council on AI, an advisor to the Welsh Strategic AI Council as well as an advisor to the EU AI Commission Plenary advising on the Code of Conduct for the EU AI ACT. Diane is also currently a member of the Canadian Task Force advancing the federal AI strategy.

📣 Join us for the 2026 Atlantic Universities’ Teaching Showcase!

Memorial University, Newfoundland and Labrador's Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) is pleased to host this year’s Showcase online on Wednesday, October 14.

This year’s theme, Pedagogy, Practice, and Purpose in the Age of GenAI, brings Atlantic educators together to explore how we can respond thoughtfully to the opportunities and challenges GenAI presents for teaching and learning.

The Showcase will feature keynote speaker Dr. Diane Gutiw, Vice-President, Global AI Research Centre Lead at CGI, along with sessions exploring authentic pedagogy and assessment, learning experience, accessibility, equity and inclusion, academic integrity and more.
