Coming up on October 22 in our Ensemble Series! Join the MUN Wind Ensemble for Journeys, a program exploring themes of courage, reflection, movement, and discovery. From Gala Flagello's energetic Bravado and Vaughan Williams' lyrical Rhosymedre to Andrew Staniland's world premiere Seascapes and Tom Davoren's evocative Stillness, the concert invites audiences on a musical voyage across landscapes, oceans, and horizons.

Congratulations to our faculty and alumni who received well-deserved recognition from their peers at the MusicNL Awards this past weekend!

The School of Music’s Rob Power took home the award for Classical Artist of the Year and our own Dylan Rook Maddix was awarded Music Educator of the Year. 🎉

We are proud to announce that the 23rd edition of our annual Newfound Music Festival was named Event of the Year! Thank you to the faculty, staff, alumni, and students who work hard to make this festival happen every year. And to our 2026 special guests, Quasar quatuor de saxophones, for sharing their talents with us. Stay tuned for details on the next edition of the festival happening January 27-29, 2027!

🏆 Alumna Sarah Newell, part of With Violet, took home Group of the Year and Pop Artist of the Year.
🏆 Alumna Meghan Herder won Industry Professional of the Year.

🏆 Alumnus Eric Taylor Escudero, part of Ana & Eric, won International Touring Artist of the Year.

Only two weeks until we welcome James Ehnes, one of the world’s most renowned violinists, to the School of Music, presented in partnership with Tuckamore Chamber Music Festival!

The winner of two Grammy Awards, three Gramophone Awards, and 12 JUNO Awards, Ehnes will be joined by celebrated pianist Andrew Armstrong. Together, they will perform a program including Brahms’ “Sonata No. 3,” Bartók’s “Rhapsody No. 1,” and the world premiere of Carmen Braden’s “Imaginal”.
