Making veggies the top dog on the plate!
While I don’t promote weight-loss, specific body types and sizes. I do and always will promote a healthy body and mind.
However most people who have reached out to me, and probably the number one reason why women have joined the FoodIQ journey is because they are unhappy with their weight.
An unhealthy body will not release weight long term.
This missing link of the weight and diet programs out there is why they don’t work.
The “diet” industry in Canada is worth over $330 million dollars a year!! Yet we have an increased rate in obese and overweight individuals - 1 in 5 Canadians considered obese.
Body weight is only one symptom of a broken diet culture.
I assure you the solution to these problems is never another fad diet.
I am not a dietitian or nutritionist and there are no fancy letters behind my name. I’m just a mom of 3 who’s passionate about real health and nutrition. Years of real life experience has formed my beliefs in what works simply and sustainably.
I have proved it for myself and through others who’s success has reached far beyond the scale.

Fake news!
There are more low fat, sugar free, low calorie, diet foods to choose from than there was 25 years ago.
We were told fat, sugar and calories are bad.
We were told to cut out sugar and it was replaced with manufactured sweeteners so we still got our sweet tooth fix.
We were told fat is making you fat and it was extracted and replaced with other additives to enhance taste.
We were told a calorie is a calorie and we should reduce our intake. And the 100 cal craze was born.
If this were true, how is it that adult obesity has increased 70% and 85% in children over the last 25 years???
Zero calorie, zero sugar, zero carbs?
So what exactly is it???
A manufactured chemical soup that we’ve been told is better than REAL food. When in fact it’s making us sicker and fatter than ever before!
Sorry to say but we’ve been lied to and now conditioned to believe it.
I know that’s hard to wrap our brain around and old habits can die hard.
Trust me, not all calories are created equal. You need healthy fat to burn fat and for other body functions. Some naturally occurring sugar is necessary for the delivery of essential nutrients.
The picture below was sent to me, thought to be a great choice. But these so called “healthier” products are causing more harm.
Don’t be fooled by marketing that would have you spend your money on something made in a lab.
Zero fat, zero sugar, zero calories - ZERO nutrition.
Go back to the basics. Go back to natural.
Try fresh unsweetened berries on a healthy pancake. even real maple syrup is better than the fake news.

Health IS wealth!
When we feel better we do better.
Studies show that employers spend 200-300% more on indirect health care in the form of absentees, sick days and lower productivity than they do on health care payments.
Here’s a company who is getting it right!
Incentives for employees to take action to become healthier.

Raise your FoodIQ, make peace with food and your body in 2022
Make 2022 the year you consider your overall diet – the quality, variety and combination of foods you eat on a CONSISTENT basis – rather than focusing on specific foods or fad diets.
Add fermented foods daily.
Focus on eating mostly whole and minimally processed foods; set a goal to eat fewer ultra-processed foods.
Adopt an anti-inflammatory diet that includes plenty of flavonoid-rich foods.
A healthy diet and moderate-intensity aerobic exercise five times a week, shows significant improvement in cognitive performance. Make your brain and mental health a top priority in 2022.
Have a happy healthy new year

There is no diet that will outperform your commitment and the habits to chase health rather than your dress size.
