Make Midterm Matter is celebrating 20 years of bringing students together to give back to our community, and we want you to be a part of it. 🫶

Join us on Tuesday, Oct. 13, for a fun day of volunteering at local organizations. You’ll spend the day giving back, meeting other students and making a difference in our community.

Women+ in Academia: Building Community and Shaping Change

🗓 Friday, Oct. 16 | ⏰ 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM | 📍 Core Science Facility (CSF 1302) + Online

This event focuses on the challenges that women+ face at different career stages, learning about available supports, building networks and mentorship connections, and identifying actionable recommendations to advance their success at Memorial.

The session is brought you in part by the Office of the Vice-President (Research and Innovation) in collaboration with a strong network of women+ colleagues from across Memorial’s many campuses and academic units.

Registration is free but in-person participation is limited. Please register by Monday, Oct. 5.

Fall 2026 Tent Gathering on Memorial's St. John's campus 🍂
The Tent Gathering aims to create a safe place on campus for all campus community members, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, to come together to promote and celebrate many rich and diverse Indigenous cultures of this province and nation.
🗓️ Date and time: Friday, Sept. 18, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
📍Location: Juniper House, 208 Elizabeth Avenue (near Residence) on the St. John's campus.
This event is open to all Memorial University, Newfoundland and Labrador community members and is presented by the Indigenous Student Resource Centre - Memorial University in partnership with Memorial University Student Life and First Light.

👩‍🌾 GET READY FOR FARM FUN DAY 2026! 🌾

You are invited to join us on Saturday, October 3rd from 12:00 to 4:00 PM at the Pye Centre(80 Mud Lake Road), to help celebrate the end of the growing season.

As always, there will be lots of food to be eaten, fun to be had, and beautiful fall colours to enjoy! 🍁 🎃

Happy to announce that the Community Outdoor Market will move to the Pye Centre on Saturday, October 3rd, to take part in Farm Fun Day, so you can expect to find all of your favourite local craft and food vendors there, too!

We're ALSO excited to partner once again with the Labrador Friendship Centre in support the Community Food Bank. In lieu of charging admission, we're asking the community to instead consider bringing a non-perishable food item(s) or making a monetary donation.
