Finn gets out to a lead early in this sector. Amaury made up some time through the bottom of this sector and end sup super close by the Monster jump.
Congrats to Finn on his second Elite WC win.

Combine skills and endurance work. When Carter is on the mountain bike, he picks one focus for the ride, cornering, pumping, line choice, whatever needs attention, and holds it for the full three or four hours.
The full conversation on preparing for seven days of XC racing, from the winter gravel base to the sharp end of the build, is out now on the sportsense podcast.
Carter Nieuwesteeg describes the group as breathing through their eyeballs. Then Nino Schurter looks over and says, it's really nice here, hey? It's a beautiful day.
That is what a career at the top of World Cup cross country buys you, enough headroom to enjoy the view at a pace that has everyone else pinned.
The full conversation, from the start-list nerves to the stage-by-stage story, is out now on the sportsense podcast.

This week's GSMBC Scholarship Spotlight is Katherine Morency.
Katherine started racing mountain bikes on a high school team in Thunder Bay, Ontario, where she is recognized as one of the region's bike legends. She has since competed in cross country and enduro events across Canada and the US, and runs her own coaching clinics through, Motive Athlete Development, delivering skills clinics from Thunder Bay to Whistler. Now she's developing mountain biking opportunities for Indigenous youth.
Her path has been shaped by mentor relationships with experienced BC coaches. The mentor-to-coach lineage is one of the quietest and most important parts of how the sport actually grows, and the scholarship is how we make sure the cost of certification does not sit between Katherine and the next group of riders she is teaching in the Cariboo.

is set to start his 100th world cup. In 30 years of World Cup Downhill, only 12 men have started 100 or more races (continue'd below)
Adam Brayton (105). A Yorkshire racer who built a long career largely on his own terms, equal parts grit and personality, and a genuine fan favourite. Late in his career he was still posting his best results and lining up at Hardline.
Bernard Kerr (104+) - A Pivot Factory mainstay with a long record of strong World Cup results, but best known for owning Red Bull Hardline, the most dangerous event in the sport. Few riders mix World Cup consistency with that kind of big-bike bravery. World Cup starts: 104
Brook MacDonald (104+). Headline: "Back from a broken back." Body: Brook MacDonald. The Bulldog raced with as much aggression as anyone, a junior world champion and serial World Cup podium threat. He fractured his back at the 2019 Worlds and fought his way back to elite racing, one of the sport's great comebacks.
Official records have been hard to find on this - thanks & for the help.

This was potentially the most dramatic finish of the modern era.
#19 - The 2019 World Cup final round in Snowshoe, delivered one of the most dramatic showdowns in history. Coming into the race, Loïc Bruni (FRA), Amaury Pierron (FRA), both had a shot at the men’s overall title. In an electric atmosphere on U.S. soil, the race saw multiple lead changes. Pierron threw down a blistering run to take the hot seat. Danny Hart (GBR) flew down and edged Pierron for the win, which gave Bruni the overall title. Bruni’s clutch 3rd place finish clinched the World Cup, capping a finale where the overall standings literally could have flipped in the final minutes
