Classroom Spotlight: Upper Elementary
Students use the materials and resources in the classroom to deepen their understanding, while soaking up a bit of late fall sunshine.
A new artistic medium – lino cutting and stamping. Through this medium, students must show care in each step in order to create a beautiful final product. Linoleum block printing stretches the mind by asking the artists to think about positive and negative space, as well as handling the challenge of inverse images.
The seasonal celebration of pumpkins provided an excellent avenue for learning the parts of the fruit, as well as hearing stories about the co-evolution of plants and animals.

Huge congratulations to our team of 'Event Coordinators' for raising $2,147 for Squamish Helping Hands! Their hard work and determination during the planning and implementation of our inaugural Skyridge Holiday Market will have a meaningful impact in our local community. Happy holidays from all of us at Skyridge!
The Giving Kind:
A team of leadership students from Skyridge Montessori, in Grades 4 to 7, raised $2,147 for Squamish Helping Hands.
The children organized a school-wide Holiday Market where students could ‘shop’ for items donated to the school by families.
They raised the funds in only two days.
The students’ dropped off their donation at Under One Roof to Karen Berrisford, operations and enterprise manager, for Squamish Helping Hands.
The students "planned every aspect of this event, from work back plans, to graphic design, to marketing and promotion, to volunteer organization, to implementation, they did it all!," said Laura Darch, executive director at Skyridge Montessori.
Well done, all.
