Behind every statistic is a person and a story.
These stats provide a little window into the experience of life with a work permit in Squamish. While data can help us understand trends and challenges, it does not and cannot fully capture the complexity of people’s lives.
We want to highlight the voices and lived experiences of migrant workers in our community.
Through our Centering (Im)Migrant Voices: Interview Project, we hope to learn directly from people who have lived or worked in Squamish with a closed work permit and deepen our collective understanding of migrant life in Squamish.
🗣️ Interested in sharing your story? Apply for an interview through the link in our bio.

Life with a work permit comes with unique challenges and uncertainties. That’s why this program exists. We’re here to help you navigate those difficulties with dignity and respect. One of the ways we help is by sitting down with you for a one-on-one appointment. These appointments are confidential.
Appointments are free and offered by our Support Coordinator Zulma Reina. You can talk about topics that are important to you, like adjusting to life in Canada, questions about your work permit or job, accessing health care and MSP, life at work or at home, emergencies and other challenges, and more.
Book an appointment by calling or emailing us, ask for Zulma!
