We just wrapped two incredible (and jam-packed!) weeks delivering our Youth Employment Programs in Squamish and North Vancouver! 🎉
We had two amazing groups of youth who showed up with such great energy and enthusiasm throughout the program. A huge part of what makes this initiative so special is our local businesses, and we are so thankful and appreciative to every business that donated their time to help support our participants and bring these experiences to life.

We couldn't do it without you! 💙

Looking forward to our upcoming Young Adult Employment Program, as well as our Marine Career Sampler coming up in September!

May 5th is Red Dress Day, which invites us to remember and honour missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ peoples (MMIWG2S+).Red dresses are used to call the spirits of missing and murdered women and girls back to their loved ones. Our hearts and thoughts are with those who are grieving for someone today.

We're wrapping up an incredible 4-week long Essential Skills program with N'Quatqua, where we focused on developing the essential skills that employers are looking for. We covered a long list of topics, from Professional Communication, to obtaining First Aid and Serving It Right certificates, to Dressing for Success - including a work clothing shopping trip to the Squamish Mark's Work Warehouse, as well as a day of touring Pemberton and Mount Currie businesses! We battled weather and technology to get through this program, and today we celebrate our graduating participants for sticking to it and completing this program!

We've just completed our first-ever Seaspan Sampler program - a week-long program with Squamish Nation in partnership with Seaspan.

Not only did participants get to tour the Seaspan Shipyards and Offices, and make connections with Seaspan management, they also worked on resume and cover letter development, dressing for success, and obtaining First Aid certificates, giving job-seekers valuable skills and insight that employers like Seaspan are looking for.
