Hiring: Administrative Coordinator

The Squamish Waldorf School is seeking an organized, compassionate, and creative individual who enjoys working in a school setting.

Position Summary:

The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for a variety of administrative and clerical services that facilitate the smooth functioning of the school. Key responsibilities include covering the front office, enrollment/student records, school communications, and community relations. This position is the first point of contact for inquiries about the Squamish Waldorf School and requires a professional work ethic and manner, requiring a high level of customer service. The candidate must be highly organized, diligent, and detail-oriented, possess great attention to detail and maintain accurate records, and be flexible and adaptable. The candidate must also have an understanding of or interest in Waldorf Education.

Key Responsibilities:

-Reception, including telephone, email, and walk-in enquiries from existing and prospective parents, community members, vendors and visitors
-Receive and respond to school emails and manage the school email distribution system
-Maintain paper-based and digital school files, student records, and other confidential files, according to the Ministry of Education standards
-Create, update and maintain school databases, spreadsheets, contact lists
-Submit reports to the Ministry of Education as required
-Manage, organize, research and assist with various projects as needed
-Field parent, faculty, staff and student questions and assist with administrative tasks
-Support the growth of our programs (e.g. marketing, supporting new coworkers, community events, etc.)
-Administer ‘light’ first aid as needed: band-aids, headaches, stomach aches, splinters
-Conduct and record safety drills

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week)

LOCATION: Onsite at Squamish Waldorf School.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
-High school graduation, plus a minimum of one (1) year post-secondary or formal certificate/diploma program equivalent, with courses in-office procedures, word processing, spreadsheet, database, web updating and desktop publishing applications
-4+ years of related experience
-Previous experience in a school setting is an asset

We wanted to share some lovely highlights from our May Fair on Saturday😊 thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed the festivities! It was a beautiful day filled with crafts, music, good food, and lots of sun!!

Our annual May Fair is fast approaching, and we would love to see you there! Join us this upcoming Saturday, May 2nd, from 11 am to 3 pm to celebrate the joy of spring. Enjoy a day of family fun, crafting, and delicious food!

Activities include: cake walk, fish pond, garlands, May pole, mini zipline, music, silk scarves, and the Great Soup-Off! There will also be a BBQ & a bake sale.

HIRING - FULL-TIME PRESCHOOL TEACHER
The Squamish Waldorf School is seeking an Early Childhood Educator for our preschool program. The position is for the 2026-27 academic year, starting in August 2026. The work must be completed on-site. There is no option to work remotely.

Tasks/Responsibilities
Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
Storytelling
Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
Knowledge of licensing regulations
Attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and problems of children
Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children

The ideal candidate has an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, their First Aid Certificate, and at least 2-3 years of experience working in childcare. Squamish Waldorf School is seeking a full-time Special Education Assistant to begin in January 2026. The position runs for the remainder of the current school year, with the possibility of continuing in future years.
Based in the heart of Sea to Sky Country, SWS offers an inclusive, values-based community and the opportunity to help nurture students in a premier pre-K to Grade 8 Waldorf School, where
student experience is at the centre of our holistic education.

Candidates must enjoy working with children and be flexible team players who are adaptable, creative, and nurturing.
