Who else loves the lazy days of summer break?

Congratulations to CMA Alumni James Foord-Kelcey (Class of 2025) and the entire U20 Canadian team for their gold win at the WFDF World Junior Ultimate Championships in Spain.
James started playing Ultimate at CMA in 2021 (his grade 8 year) and here he is now catching the gold medal winning goal for Canada at worlds. Simply incredible.
This is a very proud moment for Mr. Sharp and the entire CMA community.
Way to go James!

WFDF World Junior Ultimate Championships 2026: Finals Recap - Ultiworld Three different nations stood atop the U20 divisions after play concluded.

CMA’s graduating Class of 2026 embarked on one final expedition as classmates in June to a remote island on British Columbia’s North Coast. The adventure on Campania Island is hard to describe in a brief note or a few photographs as it is simply just so impactful on many levels.
Among windswept granite, twisted coastal forests, quiet beaches, and places without names, students found opportunities to explore, create, reflect, and make decisions for themselves. Along the way, plans shifted with weather, tides, wildlife, and circumstance—reminders that meaningful journeys are coupled strongly to the places they pass through.
The island provided no single lesson or experience. Instead, it offered space to wonder, to challenge assumptions, to discover hidden places, and to decide what mattered. Our grads began their exploration as a group building stability, then took more time for small group or individual work.
For younger CMA students, these images are a way to build connection to this faraway place. The real stories belong to those who were there and to those who will one day make the journey themselves.

Congrats to CMA's Class of 2026 Valedictorian Dominic.
Next year he will be studying Engineering at Queen’s University and it is worth noting that Dominic received offers to 3 top Canadian universities, all in engineering.
Dominic was CMA’s Schulich Leader Scholarship candidate this year, a true representation of the leadership he showed within the classroom, within his cohort, and within the school as a whole.
Dominic was described this year by one of his teachers as “the kindest soul I’ve ever taught.” His warmth will undoubtedly make the world a better, brighter place.

Next year CMA grad Annika will be studying Psychology in the sunny Okanagan at UBCO.
Annika has demonstrated ​​incredible growth since joining CMA in grade 9. In her final year, she inspired fellow students in the Climbing Club as she fearlessly practiced lead falls and took on a leadership role as Senior Editor of the CMA yearbook.
She worked through challenges, and demonstrated resilience as well as patience. Annika is an inspiring student who will be missed by the entire school community.

CMA graduate Wes will be studying Engineering at The University of Calgary this Fall.
Wes is one of two District Authority Scholarship winners at CMA. His dedication to all of this subjects and overall high grade point average was a large part of his selection and success for this award
Wes is a remarkably well-rounded student with a love for academics, hands-on projects, athletics, and the outdoors. We know he will fit into university culture straight away.

Congratulations to CMA graduate Gia who will be studying Sciences at the University of Victoria this Fall.
Gia brings pure sunshine wherever she goes, gifted with a wonderful smile that never fades. Always friendly and genuinely kind, she has a beautiful way of focusing on others and making everyone feel truly seen.
She was a valued member of the yearbook committee and is commended by her teachers for demonstrating excellent leadership on the winter LEAD climbing trip.
Gia is an extremely considerate person and we are sure she will thrive socially when surrounded by a whole sea of new faces next year.

Before you is a student whose enthusiasm for outdoor education and athletics is truly contagious! When Simon is excited about something, for instance being in the alpine, on a spectacular beach, or playing a new game, he remains in near constant motion, running to and fro and bringing up the energy of everyone around him.
Year-after-year, Simon has continually been realizing his academic potential and he is well poised to succeed in his studies at the University of Calgary.
If we had to guess, we expect him to make frequent trips to the Rockies throughout his degree.

Congratulations to CMA Graduate Joca who will be attending the University of Victoria starting this Fall.
Joca lives life with a brilliant spark! His daily goals are simple yet powerful: keep a strong, fit physique, share a good laugh, and surprise everyone around him with the most unexpected things imaginable. His unique energy keeps life exciting, and his future is sure to be anything but ordinary.
