🍎 Back-to-School Lunch at Savanna School! 🍎

We’re excited to share a small change to our first-day tradition this year!

In previous years, Savanna Home and School hosted a back-to-school breakfast. Based on feedback from families last year, we thought it might be even more helpful to take one thing off your plate on the first day of school... packing lunch!

On Thursday, September 3, Savanna Home and School will be providing students with a sausage and perogie lunch.

Savanna Home and School is a non-profit group made up of members of our School Council, and all parents are welcome to get involved.

Back to school is just around the corner! We hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of summer. As we get ready for another great year at Savanna School, here is some helpful information to get you started.

Registration

There is no tuition or registration fee to attend Savanna School. Students joining us from Bonanza School do not need to register again.

Technology and Software Licensing Fee

For the 2026–2027 school year, Peace Wapiti Public School Division has a mandatory Technology and Software Licensing Fee for all students. This fee supports student devices, software licences, cybersecurity, and digital learning platforms.

The annual fee is:
• $20 for Kindergarten
• $40 for Grades 1–3
• $50 for Grades 4–12

Fees will be available to pay through your child's PowerSchool account in September. If you require assistance, please contact the Savanna School office.

Bussing

To stay up to date on bus delays and cancellations, download the Bus Status 4 app from your app store.

Looking for childcare?

Did you know we have a licensed daycare for children aged 18 months and up operating right inside our school? With federal and provincial funding, it is a very economical childcare option. Spaces can fill quickly, so be sure to check out Savanna Daycare for more information.

If you have questions before school starts, we would love to hear from you! Our admin team can be reached at [email protected].

The Recplex is set, and it is starting to feel real

We are looking forward to celebrating the Savanna School Class of 2026 this Saturday, June 27, at 2:00 p.m. at the Savanna Rec-Plex in Silver Valley.

Graduation is always a special day for our school and community. We are proud of these students and excited to recognize all they have accomplished.

Light refreshments will follow the ceremony.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026. We can’t wait to celebrate with you.

What a wonderful Awards Day at Savanna School!

Today we had the chance to celebrate our students for their hard work, kindness, citizenship, growth, academic achievement, and the many unique qualities that make each of them such an important part of our school community.

A huge thank you to our families and community members who joined us to celebrate, and to our staff for the time and care they put into making this day special for students.

We also want to extend a very special thank you to R360 for generously providing the BBQ. Your support helped make the day feel like a true community celebration, and we are grateful for the way you continue to support our school and students.

Congratulations to all of our award recipients. We are proud of you!

Tomorrow is Awards Day at Savanna School!

We are looking forward to celebrating our students and recognizing their growth, citizenship, achievement, and excellence throughout the year.

Families and community members are welcome to join us for a BBQ from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, generously donated by R360. Thank you to R360 for supporting our students and school community.

Our awards ceremony will begin around 12:30 PM and will include student awards, Kindergarten Graduation, the Gail Benson Citizenship Award, and recognition of academic achievement and excellence. We expect to wrap up around 2:00 PM.

Elementary parents, please remember to let your child’s homeroom teacher know before leaving with them.

We look forward to celebrating with our students, families, staff, and community tomorrow!
