A Guru does not simply impart knowledge they awaken a vision. They teach us not only what to learn, but how to live, how to listen, how to persevere, and how to surrender to the journey.
In music, every note carries the imprint of the Guru’s guidance. Every step forward is built upon countless moments of patience, correction, encouragement, and grace.
On this sacred occasion of Guru Purnima, students of Gurukul offer their heartfelt pranams to their Guru - Sharanjeet Singh Mand Sharanjeet Singh Mand and to the eternal bond that shines in the consciousness of the knowledge transmitted through generations of Guru’s before.
Sharing some pearls of wisdom from Sharanjeet Singh Mand. Hope it answers some pertinent challenges around riyaz.

A gentle reminder and a soft understanding that unfolds on this path - tradition is not a weight to carry, nor a lineage to claim. What comes from the guru and the gharana is a blessing, a direction, a fragrance that quietly shapes the heart. It arrives as grace quietly shaping the way we listen, feel, and receive music.
But beyond all forms and names, there is a deeper current. A source from which all music arises, untouched, infinite, and free. The true lineage is far more subtle, it is not outside of us. It lives at the source from where all sound is born, from where music flows as something sacred and infinite.
To be a student, then, is not to hold tightly to identity, but to gently dissolve it. To listen so deeply that the boundaries begin to fade. until what remains is only the music itself, flowing from that divine origin.
As we are drawing close to our next chapter of Ritu Raag Series - a special curated intimate concert, these snippets are source inspiration and excitement.
Involving all senses and also the spirit is the way to oneness with music. Hence, the upcoming concert is an offering of wholeness to you all, God willing!
