Amongst elite performers, there's a phrase that's popular: "mindset is everything". And we believe that also. What children believe about themselves becomes their reality. That's why we focus so heavily on language and how a child speaks about themselves and others.
Children are discouraged from using "demotivating" language that brings down their own energy and that of others. We encourage speaking positively about yourself and your abilities. And we expose children to age-appropriate challenges so their belief in themselves continues to grow every month.
Don't believe it? Send us a DM and we're happy to show you how this works!

We get some criticism about having no tests... but there's good reason for it. Self-paced learning ensures that children are reaching mastery of topics, so we don't need class-wide tests to prove that. And these tests don't measure the one trait that is the most important for a happy and successful life--confidence.
Confidence and mindset determine what a child thinks they can accomplish--and that becomes what they *actually* can accomplish. Your confidence determines your ceiling.
That's what we want to measure, and we do that through Exhibitions of Learning and our daily group discussions. If you're curious, send us a DM to learn more!

Our day has structure, just not the kind us adults grew up with. There are no lectures, no one-size-fits-all assignments, and no homework sent home to fight over at night.
Instead, we have a Socratic discussion to start the day, a focused self-paced learning block in the morning, hands-on project work in the afternoon (often in teams), and reflection at the end. Children set their own goals and track their own progress, with a Guide nearby to coach and push when needed.
It's a completely different kind of school. And once children find it, most of them don't want to leave. Come see it for yourself. DM us to schedule a tour!

One of the most valuable skills children can develop is ownership over their learning. At Acton, young people set goals, manage their time, and reflect on their progress regularly.
This builds independence and confidence, helping them take responsibility for their growth. This also creates a sense of empowerment that they can carry into all aspects of their life. That's why we value building this mindset so much.

At Acton, young people experience. entrepreneurship as more than just starting a business. It’s about creating value driven by passion and purpose, and helping others. Children learn to think creatively, solve problems, and take initiative in ways that are meaningful and ethical.
This builds confidence and real-world skills that extend far beyond business. It’s a foundation that prepares them to contribute in thoughtful and impactful ways that create meaning for them and others.
