The Music Studio is thrilled to announce that some adult students are participating with the group Musical Matters in a Celtic concert on Friday, November 15th at 7:00pm & Saturday, November 16th at 3:00pm at St Andrews Church, 1 Drummond Street W, Perth. The suggested donation is $15.00 at the door. All proceeds will go to The Community Home Support of Lanark County.

The Music Studio | Smiths Falls Music Lessons The Music Studio is an established teaching studio offering a variety of music lessons in Smiths Falls.

We are so excited to share that "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" will be performed Friday June 21st at 7:00 pm and Saturday June 22nd at 3:00pm at St Andrews Church at 1 Drummond Street in Perth! Tickets on sale at the door.

This concert follows the development of love from infatuation, unrequited love, love in full bloom to the ending of love using songs from the 60's, 70's 80's and 90's! It also explores the power of friendship and its enduring love. Most of the performers are adult students from The Music Studio. All of the proceeds go to Eagles Wings Children's Village.

Don't miss this fun filled (and sometimes touching) concert. Love does make the world go round!

Great news! “Scientists from the University of Exeter looked at data from over a thousand adults 40 years and older that took part in the Protect study. This study aims to understand how the brain ages.

The researchers found playing an instrument - notably the piano - was linked with improved memory and executive function. Executive functions include mental processes for planning, focusing, remembering and juggling tasks.” Other instruments as well as singing offer benefits as well.

This is so encouraging for people as they age. They can make music, which feeds the soul, and at the same time stimulate the brain. This can help with brain health.

Get out there, make music, take lessons and develop your musical talent. Your brain will thank you!!

The fall season is here and The Music Studio is delighted to have several adult students performing in the Remembrance Day concert “We’ll Meet Again” on November 12th at 3:00pm. Tickets are $10 at the door.

All proceeds go to The Canadian Veterans Services Dog Unit where they train and give dogs to veterans with post traumatic stress disorder.

Come and learn more about the Second World War and listen to some of the songs that kept the moral up of fighting men and women as they battled against the axis powers.

What a concert! The energy was infectious! A special thank you to our adult students and other musicians who participated in this concert. Together we raised upwards of $2000 for the displaced people of the Harvey street fire. It was wonderful to see everyone and we appreciate your support!

Spring is here and the air is full of music! Birds are singing, frogs are croaking and The Music Studio is vibrating with the music of its students. Some are in MAG at the highs school. Others have just finished musicals. It’s been a busy and rewarding spring! Adults are singing in choirs and participating in concerts. It’s a joyous time of year!

September is fast approaching and with schedules and activities, remember to include singing or learning an instrument! This creative activity is full of self expression. It is a stimulant for the brain and develops fine motor skills. It is wonderful for students of all ages and is one of the best gifts to give anyone - including ourselves!

Every week we celebrate the small pleasures of note reading, rhythm counting and the beginning steps to chording and improvising with our students. It is an privilege to work with them and see their musicality develop. We celebrate them and wish them a wonderful summer full of small AND large pleasures! We look forward to seeing them in the fall and are anticipating our summer lessons with those who will continue then. Happy summer ☀️ ⛱
