Dear A to Z families,

It is with great excitement and a touch of nostalgia that I write my very last official post as owner of A to Z Montessori to announce my retirement from childcare. After many incredible years of nurturing and caring for the wonderful children in our community, I have decided to take a step back and embark on a new chapter of my life.

I am delighted to introduce Chelsea St. Germain as the new owner of our beloved childcare center, effective August 1, 2024. Chelsea has been an integral part of my team for the past eight years, and her dedication and passion for childcare have always shone through. I have full confidence in her ability to continue the legacy we have built together and take this center to new heights.

Throughout the years, I have strived to create a nurturing environment where children feel loved, supported, and encouraged to grow. It has been a labour of love, with countless hours of hard work, perseverance, and dedication. There were moments of both triumph and trial, but every experience has been instrumental in shaping the reputation and success of our center.

I am grateful to have had Chelsea by my side, sharing the vision and dedication to our children's well-being. Her commitment to excellence and her genuine care for each child have made her an invaluable asset to my team. As she assumes the role of owner, I am confident that Chelsea will continue to provide exceptional care and guidance to all the little ones who walk through our doors.

Reflecting on the past 13 years as the owner of A to Z, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the support and love I have received from the community. Each day spent with the children has been a source of fulfillment, even during the challenging times. As with life in any business, there have been lots of ups and downs. I recognize and appreciate the understanding that families and staff have shown me as I navigated trials and tribulations, both personally and professionally. Along the way, I made mistakes and faced challenges, but these experiences have guided me to become the leader, business owner, and educator I am today.

To the families currently entrusted with our care and those who have moved on, you hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey. Your trust and support have made my time here incredibly rewarding, and it has been a joy to watch your children grow and thrive. I feel blessed that so many families chose me and my wonderful team to take care of their children year after year. Many of you have become lifelong friends, and I look forward to building connections with others outside of a work relationship.

To celebrate this transition, Chelsea and I would like to invite you to a special going away and welcome party in the fall, upon my return to town. It will be an opportunity to bid farewell to me and extend a warm welcome to Chelsea as she embraces her new role. We will be sending out invitations to the community, and we hope to see all of you there.

As summer continues to unfold, I wish you all a beautiful and memorable season. May it be filled with laughter, sunshine, and cherished moments with loved ones. Thank you again for your unwavering support, and I am forever grateful for the trust you have placed in me and my team.

We will require:

•​BC licensed ECE or ECEA license to practice or 20 hours of relevant experience (courses) as a Responsible Adult
•​Clear Criminal Record Check
•​Current First Aid
•​Three character references
•​Proven ability to work closely with other team members
•​Sensitivity and respect for individual and cultural differences
•​Adequate energy level and ability to meet the physical demands of the job
•​Genuine Passion for Child Development
•​ Excellent Communication Abilities
•​ Patience, Empathy, and Flexibility

This position is full time: Monday through Friday

•​Wage $18 - $26 hour to be negotiated depending on experience

Moving into May.

Backyard looks and feels like the Sahara desert- we have shade but we sometimes feel like we need a retractable dome 🥵

The saying April showers bring May flowers does not typically apply to us as our backyard is so hot- especially this year. Our backyard was described by a parent as having its own climate. Truth.
