Each year when it's time to remind folks to share the Marshal Boucher Memorial Award information with a young musician in their life, I am reminded of what a gift music is... what a gift life is. No one understood the power of connection through music better than Marshal. No one felt music through their whole being more than Marshal. Until his tragic passing, he was on a musical trajectory that could have led anywhere he wanted. Wherever Marshal would have gone in life, music would have gone with him, and he would be wearing an infectious smile the whole way.

This award was created to help another dreamer follow their own artistic path wherever it may lead them, and I hope it inspires all applicants to take their artistic expression with them on that journey, and keep a smile like Marshal's.

Please encourage a young person in your life to consider pursuing development opportunities in their chosen art form, and share this award with them.

This award is not limited to 2024 graduates, and considers a broad range of development opportunities beyond post-secondary.
