Here is a list of basic school supplies for Grade 07/08 students. With the addition of a few binders, dividers and lots of pens, this is a good place to start for older students too.

The ERS Grad Class of 2026 wrapped up the year with an amazing trip to Vancouver Island. We can't thank our community enough for helping make this trip a reality.
Thank you also to Mr. Meise, Mr. Bellows and Tricia Jeffery for supporting us. We sampled new activities, broadened our horizons and made memories that will last forever.

The ERS Community is so grateful for the Souper Meals Program. Thank you to Serena Caner/SD No 83 and members of the Shuswap Food Action Society for keeping our students nourished throughout the year! 💖 Thank you also to our wonderful community volunteers who show up every week to help distribute these meals. We appreciate you!!💐

This photo represents:
- Over 90,000 hot meals in a school year
- More than $600,000.00 invested in local Shuswap food businesses
- $415,000.00 spent on B.C. food
- Meal and snack programs at all 25 of our schools
- Countless students filled up with healthy, hearty meals.

Yesterday morning one of my team members had the privilege of getting a behind-the-scenes look at our local Souper Meals program, delivered in partnership with the Shuswap Food Action Society .

SD83, School Food Coordinator Serena Caner toured him through the Zest Commercial Food Hub , introduced him to the amazing team that has been feeding students across our riding, and showed him the tangible impact this program is having in the broader community through its unwavering commitment to shopping local first.

This program not only directly supports children and families, but also keeps public dollars working locally--benefiting small businesses, farmers, workers and our local economy.

"When students have access to healthy food at schools, families experience less stress, teachers see improved readiness to learn, schools become more supportive, connected spaces, and our communities benefit with jobs and economic activity." - Serena Caner

I would encourage anyone who is able to consider making a donation to the Shuswap Food Action Society to support the amazing work they are doing throughout our region. : https://shuswapfood.ca/

And a huge "Thank You!", to Serena, Shuswap Food Action Society, and everyone else who has invested time and energy into serving our region.

We were happy to be joined by Grade 5 and 6 students from Parkview to celebrate Indigenous Day earlier this week.
Students enjoyed taking part in a variety of cultural activities and finished up by roasting Bannock over a fire in the courtyard.
Thank you to Kim Hodgson of the Metis Nation of BC and SD 83 Indigenous Program staff for making this a great day.
