Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of Alberta’s largest school divisions, serving approximately 17,750 students in 42 schools. We are proud to be an integral part of our communities, including Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, Vegreville, Strathcona and Lamont counties, and the western portion of the County of Minburn. NOTE: The Division Facebook account is managed by EIPS Communication Services. The account is updated and monitored intermittently during regular office hours from 8 a.m. The Division welcomes feedback and ideas from followers but does ask everyone interacting on the EIPS page to be respectful. Elk Island Public School French immersion classrooms are laughing their way toward French language fluency over the coming weeks and again in the spring with Mat Mailandt from Think Fast Comedy! Think Fast Comedy uses comedy and improvisation workshops to help students take risks, build confidence and experience the joy of expressing themselves in a new language. Mat will return to EIPS schools this spring during his national comedy tour, where he will perform alongside French Immersion student volunteers and let them put the skills they are learning now to the test!

Thanks to Mat and all the EIPS French immersion teachers, French Immersion students are discovering the power of learning a new language. Parler français, c'est un superpouvoir!
