This week our students wore orange to mark and the . 🧡

Through reading Indigenous stories, creating thoughtful artwork, and participating in classroom reflections, our students deepened their understanding of residential school history.

Our adorable kindergarteners hit the hallways today with their special Kindergarten Kindness Wagon! Packed with tasty treats, handmade notes and beautiful smiles, these little helpers stopped by to surprise our hard-working teachers and staff with a well-deserved lift.

Seeing their excitement to give back was the absolute best part of the day. A tiny act of kindness really does make a huge impact!

Today, our staff gathered together to begin a new school year rooted in faith, connection, and a shared sense of purpose. ❤️

Our theme this year, “Rooted. United. Sent.”, calls us to walk together in faith, listen deeply to one another, and move forward with hearts open to where we are being called.

As we gathered, reflected, connected, and planned, we were reminded that we are not beginning this journey alone. We are called to walk alongside one another, grounded in our faith and united in our mission. “Here I am, Lord. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” — John 20:21

As we prepare to welcome our students and families, we are excited for the beautiful journey ahead. May this be a year of faith, growth, joy, and purpose—and may we continue to journey together, rooted in faith, united in community, and sent in love. Elk Island Catholic Schools

As we officially close the chapter on another amazing school year, our hearts are so full! We spent the morning at our Year-End Assembly celebrating our students’ incredible achievements, milestones, and memories. The joy and energy in the room were absolutely electric!

During the assembly, we also took a special moment to say a heartfelt farewell to the wonderful staff members who are moving on to new adventures.

And, of course, we couldn’t wrap up without our favourite tradition: waving a final, joyous goodbye to the buses as they rolled out one last time! Watching our students head off is always a little sad, but their bright smiles and excitement for summer break are undeniable.

To all our students, staff, and families: thank you for making this year so special. You have all worked so hard and grown so much.

Whether you are resting, traveling, or just soaking up the sunshine, we hope you have a safe, wonderful, and rejuvenating summer break!

Last week we said a huge, happy farewell to Kindergarten! What an incredible first year of school it has been for our little learners.

We have so much to celebrate. Over the last year, we’ve watched them grow by leaps and bounds in body, mind, and spirit. They’ve built new friendships, learned so many new things, and discovered just how capable they truly are.
Bring on the next adventure! We are so proud of you!

From learning their ABCs to walking the graduation stage! 🎓

Today, we had the absolute joy of welcoming back some of our former students from the Grade 12 graduating Class of 2026. Seeing them walk through our hallways again—just a little bit taller than last time!—reminded us exactly why we do what we do.

We are so incredibly proud of the leaders, thinkers, and changemakers you’ve become. Congratulations, graduates! The world is lucky to have you.
