Sherwood Heights Kindergarten and Nursery School

We are sorry to share the sad news that Loretta Meek (Streeter) passed away peacefully on Jan 28, 2017 at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton.

She is survived by her 5 children, her 13 grandchildren, and the thousands of students whose lives she touched. Recently, she calculated that she had taught 5629 students!

Mrs. Meek moved to Sherwood Park in 1964. She taught at both Guthrie School on the Canadian Forces Base north of Edmonton and OLPH in Sherwood Park before opening Sherwood Heights Kindergarten and Nursery School in 1969. Other than a break to complete her B.Ed. degree at the University of Alberta, she taught for 47 years, until her retirement just a few months ago. It was a labour of love and truly her life's calling.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2 pm at the Sherwood Park LDS Chapel at 2090 Sherwood Drive. All are welcome to express condolences to the family starting at 1:00 pm.

One is a brown Orang Utan and the other is Pink Racoon (Sophies thinks its a sheep). I your child took either of them please call me.

CLOSING DOWN SALE

After 47 years I am closing the school. There will be a closing down sale on Monday 27th and Wednesday 29 from 10 AM to 4 PM. All welcome bring your friends. EVERYTHING MUST GO!!

A day at valley Zoo

As you are probably aware this is my last year of school. After 47 years I know it is time to call it a day. Obviously we have a lot of equipment, toys and stationary to dispose of. We intend to sell of what we can at the end of term, more details are to follow closer to the day. Thank you
