🏆✨ Celebrating Excellence at St. Theresa Catholic School! ✨🏆

Yesterday afternoon, families, staff, and students gathered in our gymnasium for the annual St. Theresa Awards Ceremony, a special celebration recognizing the many accomplishments of our Grade 7 and Grade 8 students.

Throughout the afternoon, we honoured students whose hard work, dedication, faith, leadership, perseverance, creativity, and athletic achievements have made a positive impact on our school community. Awards presented included Merit Awards, Academic Honours, Subject Area Awards, Top Academic Awards, Growth and Perseverance Awards, Outstanding Athlete Awards, Fine Arts Awards, the Sergeant George Miok Memorial Award, and Christian Citizenship Awards.

We celebrated students who have achieved academic excellence, demonstrated remarkable growth, excelled in athletics and the arts, served others with compassion, and lived out the values of our Catholic faith through leadership, kindness, and respect.

We are incredibly proud of all of our award recipients and of every student who has contributed to making St. Theresa a welcoming, faith-filled, and vibrant community. Thank you to our families and staff for the encouragement and support you provide throughout the year.

Our St. Theresa Catholic School community came together to recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day, honoring the rich cultures, traditions, and ongoing contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

Our day began with a meaningful school-wide assembly before students rotated through a variety of engaging learning experiences that celebrated Indigenous knowledge, culture, and traditions. Students participated in smudging, traditional games, Métis dot art, sharing circles, a land-based scavenger hunt, a lesson exploring the history and culture of the Haida People, and even enjoyed tasting delicious bannock as part of their cultural learning experience.

A heartfelt thank you to Curt Young, a Nehiyaw (Cree) musician, grass dancer, filmmaker, and educator from Cowessess First Nation in Saskatchewan, for sharing his culture through powerful storytelling, traditional hand drums, and music. His message reminded our students that the arts can be powerful tools for healing, understanding, and Truth and Reconciliation.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to The Reds Indigenous Dancers for their vibrant performance of traditional Métis jigging. Blending First Nations, Scottish, Irish, and French-Canadian step-dancing traditions, their energetic performance of the famous Red River Jig captivated our students. They also invited students to learn the basics of Métis jigging, giving everyone the opportunity to experience the joy, energy, and cultural significance of this vibrant dance tradition firsthand.

A special thank you to Mrs. Renneberg and Miss Billingsley for thoughtfully planning this meaningful day of learning and celebration. Their dedication provided our students with authentic opportunities to listen, learn, reflect, and deepen their appreciation for Indigenous cultures and traditions.

Together, we continue to walk the path of truth and reconciliation by learning from one another, celebrating the diverse cultures that enrich our school and country, and building relationships rooted in respect, understanding, and hope.

There was so much excitement in our hallways as we welcomed back our graduates from Archbishop Jordan Catholic High School! 🎉

Our students and staff lined the halls, clapping, cheering, and celebrating these incredible graduates as they took a well-deserved victory lap through St. Theresa. It was a joyful reminder that while our graduates have moved on to high school, they will always be part of the St. Theresa family.

Congratulations to all of our ABJ graduates! We are so proud of everything you have accomplished and can't wait to see all that God has planned for your future. May you continue to grow in faith, knowledge, and service wherever your journey leads.

As they mark this important milestone in their educational journey, our Indigenous graduates were honoured with a special gift—a pair of Manitobah moccasins—in recognition of their hard work, perseverance, and achievements. This gift celebrates their success while honouring Indigenous culture, identity, and heritage.

We are so proud of these students and the strength, resilience, and leadership they bring to our St. Theresa Catholic School community. We are grateful to celebrate this milestone alongside their families and loved ones as they prepare for the exciting journey ahead.

Our Grade 8 students recently took part in the annual 4-8-12 Celebration, a meaningful tradition that recognizes the achievements of our Grade 4, Grade 8, and Grade 12 Ukrainian Bilingual Program students as they reach important milestones in their educational journey.

We are so proud of these dedicated students, who continue to preserve and celebrate the Ukrainian language, culture, and traditions through their learning and leadership. Their commitment reflects the strength, resilience, and rich heritage of the Ukrainian community.

It was a wonderful evening filled with joy, pride, and gratitude as honored guests, families, students, and staff came together to recognize the spirit of this vibrant community and celebrate the accomplishments of our students.

Congratulations to our Grade 8 Ukrainian Bilingual Program students! We are proud of all that you have achieved and look forward to seeing you continue to grow as leaders, learners, and ambassadors of Ukrainian culture.

Nolan was nominated by Mrs. Bishop for his perseverance, leadership, strong connection to his community and traditions, and his ability to inspire those around him. He consistently demonstrates kindness, respect, and a commitment to helping make our school community a welcoming place for everyone.
