I have some rare time to escape to my favourite cafe to write yoga classes today. This truly is my favourite way to enjoy some time to myself! As I'm finishing my last year of yoga teacher training, I'm becoming more excited about what it will feel like to share the gift of yoga with more children. My 10 year old boy helped me write this Minecraft inspired class! Watching children fall into the rare quiet of their own inner peace, knowing they are learning how to regulate their bodies and minds for LIFE - how incredibly rewarding and awesome is that!?!

What’s available:
- 2 spaces for children 18 months+
- Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:00am-5:00pm

Affordable part time childcare in the Summerwood neighborhood, directly off Highway 21 and Yellowhead. Recently certified to teach kids yoga and excited to bring mindfulness and movement into our programming!

Some ways we recognized the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation...

- reading indigenous literature
- used loose parts to create orange shirts
- made bannock from an elder-approved recipe
- listened to indigenous music
- talked about the importance of the medicine wheel and coloured our own wheels

I feel it's important to integrate indigenous teachings and history into our programming, not just on September 30th, but throughout our adventures, particularly because of our nature-based style of learning. I feel privileged and grateful to live and work on this beautiful land, always remembering its origins and the suffering of those who lived here first.

It's so enjoyable putting together a beautiful bowl of oatmeal. We had steel cut oats this morning with brown sugar, cinnamon, blueberries and chia seeds. I love preparing simple, healthy foods that I can make interesting by adding a variety of toppings. I think I'll add shredded coconut next!
