๐ŸŒฟ June is National Indigenous History Month ๐ŸŒฟ

This month, we encourage our community to learn more about the histories, cultures, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Mรฉtis Peoples.

Education is one part of reconciliation. By learning from Indigenous voices and perspectives, we can all contribute to creating safer, more respectful, and more inclusive communities.

๐Ÿ“š This weekโ€™s featured resource is Tbestawaw8gan 2.0: Listening to Indigenous Student Realities, a collaborative educational tool that includes contributions from members of the Bishopโ€™s University community.

Today, May 5th, we honour Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people.
This day raises awareness of the ongoing violence faced by Indigenous communities and recognizes the lives that have been lost, as well as those still missing.
We stand in solidarity with families, survivors, and communities.
We remember. We honour. We call for justice.

This weekend we had our last land-based session of the semester. We had a good time finishing our shelter and spending time on the land before exams started. We ate some yummy moose burgers over the fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐Ÿ˜‹ We are grateful for knowledge holder David McComber for sharing his teachings over the past 4 years now. ๐Ÿ’œ
