Joignez-vous à nous lors de cette journée durant laquelle plusieurs intervenants et intervenantes du milieu agricole se joindront aux témoignages de producteurs et de productrices pour vous présenter différents modèles d'établissement ou de transfert!

Que vous soyez une relève établie, un étudiant en agriculture, une productrice en processus de transfert ou non, cette journée est toute désignée pour venir faire du réseautage et en apprendre plus!

Presentation subjects include student-led research on a variety of topics such as reducing food waste in local restaurants, golf course management practices, the optimization of pollination of raspberries in a controlled environment, the effects of urban sprawl on amphibians, and more!

Rejoignez-nous ce jeudi 5 décembre au J150 de 9h à 12h, où vous aurez l'opportunité d'entendre les étudiants du département d'EAG parler de leurs projets de recherche (et grignotter des collations, du café et du thé) ! Les étudiants présenteront leur projets qui portes sur divers thèmes, tels que la réduction du gaspillage alimentaire dans les restaurants locaux, les pratiques de gestion des terrains de golf, l'optimisation de la pollinisation des framboises en environnement contrôlé, les effets de l'étalement urbain sur les amphibiens, et bien plus encore !

**Opportunity for a Master's degree in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems**
The Impacts of the use of photoselective and hydrophobic nets on the production of strawberries and raspberries in the northeastern climate, supervised by Drs. Mirella Aoun and Darren Bardati, in collaboration with the IRDA team.

Start date: January 2025

Funding available: 20,000$ per year for two years

Nous sommes fiers d'annoncer que la Pre. Mirella Aoun de participera à la Tournée des chercheuses et chercheurs organisée par le Consulat Général de France à Québec avec cinq autres chercheurs dans la semaine du 9 au 14 Juin!

L'évènement invite cette année des spécialistes travaillant au Québec sur des thématiques d'agriculture et alimentation durable à découvrir plusieurs instituts français. Cette rencontre permettra ainsi le développement de partenariats franco-québécois en recherche.

Have you been wondering what is growing in the new greenhouse behind the old arena at Bishop's University? Dr. Mirella Aoun, professor in the EAG department, has been collaborating with the UdeS in order to develop, build, and optimize a solar-passive greenhouse designed for producing raspberries during the off-season in Canada. Financed by the Weston Family Foundation Homegrown Innovation Challenge, Mirella and her team continue to optimize the different equipment to perfect the growing conditions of the greenhouse. This cycle will produce fruit in the next 2-3 weeks, and another cycle will begin over the summer in order to produce fruit at the end of November & early December.
