Good morning to our respected friends, family, and community. It is with great sadness that I announce the official closure of Little House Child Care.

Having opened its doors in January 2021, Little House has catered to the needs of numerous families in Dufferin County. It has been an absolute pleasure and honour to be a part of so many children’s early education. I wish all families continued success and I hope to see everyone out in the community. Enjoy a safe and fun summer!

Thank you for supporting Little House and my family and myself look forward to our next adventure. Thank you everyone.

Due to inclement weather, UGDSB schools and offices in Zones 2, 3, and 4 (Centre Wellington, North Wellington and Dufferin) are closed today to staff and students. Students are to shift to remote learning, where possible. Staff should not report to work in person, and should shift to remote working where possible. All buses and taxis are cancelled to those affected schools. Schools and offices in Zone 1 (Guelph) remain open today.

Last week we learnt all about the rainforest! From tropical rainforests to temperate ones, we explored using our imagination. In addition lots of crafts and games geared towards our learning. The best was definitely trekking through the snow, tracking the “wolves” in the temperate rainforest!

The nugget couch (or whichever one this is!) has been an amazing addition to daycare. The kiddos use it for lounging and reading, building forts, a “car” for a “drive in” movie, floor is lava and their personal favourite “Three little pigs”. Such a great way for the kiddos to get some energy out and use their creative minds!

A whole week learning all about Antarctica! We learnt about the animals that live there (part time and full time hahah), all about the climate, weather and environment there. In addition, we made a lot of cool crafts to go along with it all! Igloos, penguin shelters and much more!

Over here at Little House, we’ve just been waiting for the snow! Enjoying lots of outdoor fun sledding and exploring. As well as, learning inside and some creative games. Floor is lava, rock curling, crafts, scavenger hunts and much more! Although it looks all fun and games, the activities we do always have a focus! Sometimes we’re focusing on gross motor, fine motor, sequencing, critical thinking and more!!! The best part, the kids LOVE playing games and just so happens we build our skills on the way! Oh what fun! ❄️

Little House Child Care has part time and full time spaces available now.

We are a small home base daycare with a focus on school readiness and the outdoors!

Kiddos enjoy daily curriculum, home made meals, outdoor exploration and much more.

We focus on building important skills such as following instructions, self regulation and advocacy, kindness and respect to ourselves and others, in addition to, potty training, independent sleeping, critical thinking and mindfulness.
