LOOK WHAT WE DID! 🎒🩵

Today we got to deliver all the backpacks and school supplies collected at our Bends for Backpacks class to Vestiaire St-Joseph… along with $600 in cash donations!

What a turnout. And what a community.

A huge thank you to everyone who showed up for our last sunset class of the season, brought a backpack or school supplies, made a donation or helped spread the word.

This is one of the things we love most about our Inspire community. We get to move together, connect, have some fun… and sometimes turn all of that into something that can make a difference right here at home.

Every backpack, every school supply and every donation added up. What a great way to wrap up our sunset season at the beach.

And a big thank you to Vestiaire St-Joseph for everything they do for our community all year long🩵

If you missed our class but would still like to help, it’s never too late. Donations can be made directly to Vestiaire St-Joseph 👉🏻

Last sunset yoga of the season đź’›

What a beautiful way to end our summer evenings on the beach.

I’m feeling so humbled by everyone who showed up for Bends for Backpacks tonight and grateful, once again, for this community and its generosity.

Every backpack, every school supply, every donation makes a difference. Tonight was a reminder that when we each do what we can and come together, we can make a real difference for families right here in our community.

My heart is full🥹

And it doesn’t have to end tonight. Vestiaire St-Joseph supports local families all year long and welcomes donations of any kind. You can still drop off a backpack or school supplies at the studio, or donate online👉🏻 https://vestiairestjoseph.com

I’ve been thinking lately about how easy it is to always be looking ahead.

What’s next? What are we working toward? What could be better?

There’s nothing wrong with having goals or wanting more. But sometimes we get so focused on what’s next that we forget to notice what’s already here.

One of the eight limbs of yoga is the yamas, and the fifth yama, aparigraha, is often translated as non-grasping or non-attachment.

I like to think of it as a reminder that we don’t always need to be reaching for more. Sometimes what we already have is enough.

And often, the moments that mean the most are the really simple ones. The ordinary, everyday moments we could easily overlook.

Like your dog being ridiculously happy just to be near you. 🩵

Maybe the little moments aren’t so little after all.

What’s one little moment you’ve been appreciating lately?

LET’S END THE SEASON BY GIVING BACK. ❤️

Our last Sunset Beach Yoga class of the season is Wednesday, August 26 at 7 PM and we’re making this one a little extra special.

We’re bringing back BENDS for BACKPACKS 🎒 our annual Pay It Forward class to help local kids and families as they get ready to head back to school.

Your class fee? ONE GOOD DEED.

Bring a backpack, school supplies or a cash donation. Everything collected will go to Vestiaire St. Joseph here in Shediac.

Yoga has always been about so much more than the poses. It’s about how we show up… for ourselves, for each other and for our community. This is one small way we can take what we practice on the mat and carry it with us off the mat.

So come join us for one last sunset, one last practice, and a chance to do a little good together. 🌅

Please SHARE this event and help us spread the word. Every share helps us reach a few more people and hopefully fill a few more backpacks. ❤️

Let’s end the summer together and make this last class count.

A little outside my comfort zone this morning. 🤍

Sharing sound in this way is still new for me, and I’m learning to get a little more comfortable being uncomfortable.

In yoga, Tapas is one of the niyamas, which are part of the eight limbs of yoga. The eight limbs remind us that yoga is so much more than the physical practice we do on our mats. The niyamas are practices that guide how we show up for ourselves, and Tapas is often described as our inner fire… the willingness to stay with a little discomfort, to keep showing up, and to do the things that help us learn and grow.

Grateful for the opportunity to keep learning, trying new things and sharing something that I love. And maybe even more grateful for the reminder that we don’t have to feel completely ready or comfortable to try something new. Sometimes we just have to be willing to show up and give it a try.

What’s something you’ve been doing lately that’s taken you a little outside your comfort zone?

54🩵

A few days late, but I wanted to share this little birthday reflection.

Another trip around the sun, and I’m feeling really grateful.

Grateful for this life. For my family and friends. For the people I get to share it with. For the work I love, the community around me, and even for the experiences that weren’t always easy but taught me something along the way.

I think one of the gifts of getting older is realizing that life doesn’t have to look perfect to be beautiful.

There’s a little more wisdom. A little more perspective. A little less worrying about what everyone else thinks. And a much deeper appreciation for the simple things… good people, meaningful moments, laughter, connection, and being present enough to actually notice it all.

I’m still learning. Still growing. And I hope I always will be. Maybe that’s part of the beauty of it, we’re never really done becoming, cause somehow at 54, I feel like I’ve just begun.

So I’m not wishing the years away or wishing I were younger.

I’m embracing 54 and everything that comes with it. The lessons, the wisdom, the wrinkles, the laughter, the memories… all of it.

Feeling very lucky to be right here, exactly where I am.🩵

I’ve been reflecting on this a lot lately, and I’ve found myself sharing it with my students too.

The other day, I caught myself talking about it in class and realized I needed the reminder just as much as everyone else.

I’ve noticed that my mind is almost always busy.

Planning what’s next.
Replaying something that already happened.
Worrying.
Judging.
Commenting on everything.

It’s so easy to miss what’s right in front of me.

One of the things I’ve been appreciating most about my yoga practice is that, every once in a while, all of that quiets down.

Not because I’ve stopped thinking, but because I’ve become present.

I can feel my breath.
I can feel my body.
I can simply be where I am.

Those moments remind me what it feels like to really be here. And lately, that has felt like such a gift🩵

Can you relate?
