The lake level continues to rise. As of this morning, it's at 192.035 metres above sea level, It has not been this high since the 6th of May.
For those who need to go under the Road 38 bridge, the clearance is now down to 1.4 m or 55 in.

A reminder:
The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming municipal elections is 12 Aug. Also, if you own your cottage you are entitled to vote in both your home riding and your cottage riding.

The lake level of Sharbot Lake continues to rise. As of today, Sharbot Lake is at 192.00 metres above sea level (MASL). A week ago, it was at 191.85. I'll do the math for you: that's a rise of 15cm or approx 6".
What this means is that the clearance under the Road 38 bridge is only 1.4m or 55". The last time it was this low was the 8th of May following the spring thaw.

BTW, 192.00 MASL sets a new historical high for Aug 5th (and likely for all of Aug.)

Don't forget to duck going under.

150th Anniversary Celebration in Sharbot Lake
August 7th and 8th 2026
Sharbot Lake Village Historical Group

The Historical group will have displays and information on the businesses, homes, churches, schools, sports teams and organizations from the past 150 years. These will be showcased at the
Oso Hall in Sharbot Lake on Garrett Street from 9a.m. until 5 p.m.
The Railway Heritage group will have displays and other events to coincide with the 150th Anniversary of the first train arriving in Sharbot Lake.

SLPOA's AGM is this coming Sat, July 25th, starting at 10:00am at Oso Hall..

Our main presentation will be an interactive Zoom presentation by a representative of SeePRO, the makers of ProcellaCOR. The aim is to provide our members with information to allow them to make an educated decision as to whether or not they want to use ProcellaCOR in getting rid of Eurasian Watermilfoil.

We'd love to have you attend in person, but if you find 'attending' on line more suitable, that's good too.

Save the Date: The Sharbot Lake Property Owners' Association Annual General Meeting will occur on Saturday, July 25th, starting at 10:00am. The location is the Soldiers Memorial (Oso) Hall.

Presentations will include our continuing drone project mapping of Eurasian Watermilfoil (EWM), the extensive water testing being carried out this year by MVCA, plus info on a new herbicide found effective against EWM.

For those of you wondering just what effect the storms last week had on lake levels:
The lake level rose 14 cm or about 5 1/2 inches to a level not seen since the last week in May. Today's level is just 4cm short of the historical high for this date
Clearance under the Road 38 bridge has been reduced to 1.5m or about 59 inches.
