☀️ We don’t want to rush your summer fun… but guess who’s back in the office today?! 🎉

After a summer filled with road trips, fishing, gardening, family time, and some well-earned rest, Mrs. Nelson is officially back in the office at St. Mary’s! 🏫💛

She’s dusting off the keyboard, tackling the inbox, and getting everything organized so we can all be ready for another amazing school year! ✏️📚 And if you have any questions as we get ready for September, she’s here and happy to help!

There’s still plenty of summer left to enjoy, so don’t pack away the flip-flops just yet… 😎 But behind the scenes, we’re starting to get things ready, and we can’t wait to welcome our Saints back soon!

☀️ How’s your summer going, Saints? ☀️

We’ve asked our staff to keep in touch throughout our time away, and we love hearing about the adventures and memories that make summer special.

Mrs. Squires kicked off her summer surrounded by a whole lot of flooding! 🌧️ After dropping her older kids off at Mountain Adventure School, she headed out for some waterfall exploring, only to discover that the path to Siffleur Falls had been overtaken by the very swollen river! Her family also had a camping spot on a hilly gravel road outside Rocky Mountain House and barely managed to get their pickup out after the first big rainstorm. They just made it out with the camper before the next storm rolled through.

On another adventure, while visiting family in northwest Edmonton, another round of huge thunderstorms arrived. They witnessed flooded streets, floating cars, and even some adventurous kayakers making the most of the unexpected waterways!

Despite all the water, it has been a summer full of adventure, family, and memories for the Squires!

While our students are away for the summer, some of our youngest Saints from the Sexsmith Child Development Centre have been helping keep our school gardens watered, cared for, and growing strong!

Interested in helping out? Your family can sign up to become garden stewards for a week. It’s easy, fun, and a great way to spend some time outdoors while helping care for our school spaces and gardens throughout the summer.
No gardening experience needed, just a willingness to lend a helping hand! 🌿

Is your Little Saint riding the school bus for the first time this fall?
The First Ride program is a great way to help new riders build confidence before the first day of school. Children and their families will learn about bus safety and even enjoy a practice ride!

First Ride Program: Event Information (Free Program)

The First Ride Program is a collaborative effort between First Student, GP Catholic, and GP Public Schools. It serves as an awareness and safety initiative for parents and students who are utilizing the yellow school bus system for the first time. We welcome students from all grade levels to participate in this program.

During the event, parents and children will have the opportunity to engage in a school bus safety PowerPoint presentation, followed by a question and answer session. To conclude the program, parents and children will enjoy a short school bus ride, providing them with firsthand experience.

Today is a day to celebrate all that we've learned, accomplished, and experienced together this year.

We invite you to “Dress Your Best” as we gather for our annual Year End & MicroSociety Awards Ceremony beginning at 1:00 p.m. Join us as we recognize achievements, celebrate growth, and applaud the many ways our Saints have shined throughout the year.

Let's finish the year with gratitude, smiles, and hearts full of appreciation for the incredible year we've shared together.

Our Saints enjoyed a full day of swimming, splashing, laughter, and making memories together at the Aquatera Outdoor Pool as we wind down the end of another amazing school year.

Sometimes learning means slowing down, enjoying the moment, and spending time with friends. Today was a beautiful reminder that rest, play, and joy are gifts to be cherished, together.

Thank you to the staff, volunteers, and pool team who helped make this day such a special one for our students. ☀️😎

We're welcoming summer with a Beach Blast! ☀️🏖️

Grades 1-8 will be heading to the outdoor pool for a day of fun in the sun. Buses will leave the school at 10:30 a.m. Our Kindergarten and Pre-K students are welcome to join us with an accompanying adult.

Please ensure students are well prepared for the day with:
🌊 Swim gear and a towel
🥪 A healthy lunch and snacks
💧 Plenty of water
☀️ Sunscreen, a hat, and other sun protection
