Jeyanthy Lepagaran, Sai Natham Fine Arts Academy is a distinguished institution in Toronto dedicated to the preservation of Tamil language, culture, tradition, and values through weekly Carnatic violin and vocal lessons. Jamuna Jeyanthy Lepagaran is the director of Sai Natham Fine Arts Academy. She started learning Western violin at the age of 9 in Europe. After moving to Canada, she started learning Carnatic violin at the age of 12 under the guidance of Smt. Thulasi Ragunathan, and then continued her training from Smt. Thanathevy Mithradeva, successfully completing her teacher’s grade examination at Thamil Isai Kalaamanram in 2002, followed by her violin Arangetram in 2003. She completed her vocal training under the guidance of Smt. She completed her Master of Fine Arts (Violin) at Annamalai University in 2021. Based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Sai Natham Fine Arts Academy’s mission is to preserve the culture, tradition, values and language of Tamils through teaching both Carnatic violin and Carnatic vocal music. Jeyanthy Lepagaran founded the academy in 2003 upon the completion of her arangetram. She continued lessons until 2009, at which time she took a break from teaching due to having to take of her young children. In 2018, eager to pass on the art to the next generation, she resumed taking lessons and the school has grown steadily since then. Sai Natham Fine Arts Academy offers weekly Carnatic violin and Carnatic vocal lessons. The academy holds annual shows, in-house concerts, and participates regularly in temple festivals and concerts held by various institutions and organizations. Students take annual music examinations with the goal of become future teachers.
