International Transgender Day of Visibility (a.k.a. as TDOV or Trans Day of Visibility) happens every year on March 31. It is a day dedicated to celebrating transgender people and their contributions to society and acts as a time to raise awareness about the discrimination faced by transgender folks worldwide.

The day was founded by transgender activist Rachel Crandall of Michigan in 2009 in response to the lack of LGBTQ+ recognition of transgender people. Previously the only well-known transgender-centred day was the Transgender Day of Remembrance, which mourns the murders of transgender people but does not acknowledge and celebrate living members of the transgender community.

March 30th is World Bipolar Day. Bipolar disorder affects around 2.2% of Canadians and 46 million people worldwide.
