Mrs. Rector’s class had an exciting field trip to Eden’s Reptiles today! Students loved getting up close and interacting with a variety of reptiles, with many brave enough to touch and hold them. They also learned fascinating facts about the animals and discovered how they are cared for, including their habitats, diets, and special needs 🖤 💛

Today, we gathered as a school community to recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day. This special day provided an opportunity to honour the rich cultures, languages, histories, and traditions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.
Our celebration included a school-wide smudge and the drummers performed an Opening Song and an Honour Song in recognition of our Grade 8 graduates. Dancers Tyrone and Wiingashk Shawana shared the history and significance of their powwow dance traditions and captivated students and staff with the energetic and highly athletic *Fancy Dance*, featuring intricate footwork, impressive spins, and beautifully vibrant regalia. The celebration concluded with all students and staff joining together in a Round Dance.
Throughout the day, Elders visited classrooms to share their knowledge and experiences, and students participated in an art activity that will become part of a school display reflecting our ongoing journey toward understanding, truth, and reconciliation.
