In recognition of Truth and Reconciliation Day, there will be no Toastmasters meeting this evening.

We take this time to reflect, learn, and honour the history, resilience, and cultures of Indigenous peoples across Canada.

We’ll resume our regular meetings next Wednesday at Sault College, Class M1230. See you then!

Today, we come together to open the Terry Fox Run with a Land Acknowledgement.

As we gather to honour Terry’s incredible legacy of hope, courage, and determination, we also take a moment to recognize the land on which we meet, run, walk, and come together as a community.

May today’s run be a reminder that every step matters — and that when we move forward together, we can create meaningful change. 💙

🏆 Congratulations to Matt, our latest recipient of the George Award!
The George Award holds a special place in our Toastmasters club. It honours our fellow Toastmaster George, who was a member for an incredible 25 years and had a wonderful ability to take a topic and spin it into a great tale.
At each meeting, we keep a little bit of George’s storytelling spirit alive by presenting the award to the Best Table Topics Speaker of the evening — someone who can think on their feet, capture the room, and, of course, tell a pretty good story!
This meeting, that storyteller was Matt! 🎤👏
Congratulations, Matt — you earned the trophy and the bragging rights until next time! 🏆😄

Tonight’s brought out the best in both experience and fresh energy! A huge congratulations to our existing member and our new member, who rose to the challenge, thought on their feet, and earned recognition as tonight’s Table Topics Champions! 👏

That’s the magic of Toastmasters: whether you’ve been with us for a while or you’re just beginning your journey, your voice has a place in the room. 💬✨

Congratulations, champions! Keep speaking, growing, and inspiring! 🌟

🎉 Congratulations to tonight’s Table Topics Champion, Waylon! 🎉

Waylon is a rising marketing consultant who loves bringing humour into his work—and that quick wit and creativity earned him tonight’s Table Topics title!

After learning about our club at last night’s partnering event with Millworks, Waylon enjoyed the experience enough to join us again at our home meeting tonight. We’re so glad he decided to come back and take on the challenge of Table Topics—and we’re even happier to celebrate his success!

If you’ve ever wondered how Toastmasters can help you grow as a leader, become a more confident public speaker, and think on your feet, we’d love to welcome you to a meeting.

📍 Next Meeting: Wednesday, August 19
🕖 Time: 7:00 PM
📍 Location: Russ Ramsay Boardroom

Come see what Toastmasters is all about—we’d love to meet you!
