Join us in room 1033 at 12:00 pm for an afternoon of professional development and pizza!

USMES is zooming in an amazing presenter on Monday, March 4. Join us in room 1036 at 12:30 pm to talk with Gillian Mackay (U of T) about instrumental conducting and teaching for middle and secondary school band. Attendance is free. There will also be free pizza provided for all attendees.

Slight change of plans tomorrow, but we're still going to have a speaker and pizza!
We are excited to be having Steven Capaldo share his knowledge of representation and inclusivity in music education and wind band rep tomorrow, Wednesday, March 8th at 12:30. We encourage everyone to come to room 1036 in the Education Building where we will collectively meet with Dr. Capaldo over Zoom to gain insight on his career and research.
We will be offering free pizza to all attendees.

The Department of Music Scholarship Ceremony is quickly approaching!
We hope to see you on February 12 at 3pm in Quance Theatre. Along with award presentations, there will be a handful of musical performances, giving you a chance to enjoy some live music! This event is an opportunity for the Department of Music to celebrate the hard work of the individuals within the department and a chance for us to express our gratitude to the donors who make these scholarship opportunities possible!

The Canadian Band Association (CBA) is putting on a professional development session on Indigenous music. You do not need to be a CBA member to participate and there is no cost to attend!

The Department of Music is hosting its annual open house on Dec. 4th! This is a great opportunity for propestive students to learn about the Usask Department of Music and what it has to offer. If you know of anyone who is interested in studying music please share this with them!
