SPIJTC works along side UA Local 179 to provide skills development training to our membership.

We are excited to announce a new course offered through UA Local 179 and Sask Piping.

COMET: Construction Organizing Membership Education Training

This course focuses on the critical role of membership in organizing for the success of the local union. It emphasizes the importance of active participation in holding the industry accountable and ensuring fair practices for all workers we represent.

The course will cover:
* The role of membership in driving the success and sustainability of the local union
* The responsibility of our members to help "police" the industry, advocating for ethical practices and fair treatment
* An honest evaluation of what the United Association (UA) has done right and what can be improved
* Strategies for improvement through grassroots organizing and member engagement

The course is designed to be fast-paced, informative, and highly engaging, running for a maximum of 4-6 hours.
