We, the First Nations, are children of the Earth, placed here by the Creator to live in harmony with each other, the land, animals and other living beings. All beings are interconnected in the Great Circle of Life. As First Nations, we treasure our collective values of wisdom, respect, humility, sharing, harmony, beauty, strength and spirituality. They have preserved and passed down our traditions

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Join us as we commemorate a significant milestone — the 50th Anniversary of First Nations University of Canada.

On May 27, 2026, we will gather across our campuses to honour 50 years of Indigenous-led post-secondary education and celebrate the history, achievements, and future of FNUniv. This special day will bring together students, alumni, Elders, faculty, staff, and community members as we recognize the vision, strength, and resilience that have shaped FNUniv over the past five decades.

We are deeply saddened by the profound loss of our fellow student, friend, and peer Jaali Sutherland-Weenie who tragically passed in the delivery of her new baby girl earlier this week.

Jaali was a fellow FNUniv Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work student set to convicate this Spring, she is remembered by our community for her lightheartedness, kindness, and strength.

Donations for Jaali’s new baby and partner can be e-transferred to:
