Today, CUPE 8443 members Ghada Mohamed & Mohamed Farag proudly represented our local at Saskatoon Public Schools’ “This Is Us” Back to School Opening Ceremony.

They did an incredible job delivering a speech on behalf of CUPE 8443 and representing the voices of our members. 👏👏

And to our 12-month members, you never left! ❤️ Thank you for all the hard work you put in throughout the summer to keep things running, prepare our schools and workplaces, and get everything ready for our 10-month members and students to return.

CUPE 8443 Stands in Solidarity with CUPE WestJet Members ✊

Today, members of CUPE 8443 were proud to join the picket lines in Saskatoon to stand shoulder to shoulder with our fellow CUPE WestJet members as they begin their strike.

As education support workers, we understand the importance of standing together when workers are fighting for fair wages, respect, and better working conditions. Solidarity is more than a word. It's showing up for one another when it matters most.

Thank you to everyone who came out today to wave flags, walk the line, and demonstrate that the labour movement is strongest when we stand united.

To our CUPE WestJet siblings, you are not alone. CUPE 8443 stands with you today and for as long as it takes.

Today marked an important milestone for CUPE 8443 as President Dene Nicholson and Superintendent of HR Michelle Leith officially signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). ✍️🤝

This signing represents the conclusion of negotiations and the beginning of the ratification process. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, effort, and commitment throughout this journey.

Upcoming member information meetings will be held soon (with both in-person and online options available). These meetings are your opportunity to learn more about the details of the MOA, ask questions, and understand what you are voting on.

Following the presentations, eligible members will receive their electronic ballot by email. Voting will only be open for a short period of time, so please make sure your email inbox is ready and check your junk/spam folders.
