📢 The June 2 Board of Education meeting is now underway! We're down to the final stretch of the 2025-26 school year—this is our second-to-last meeting of the year. Our final meeting takes place June 16.

We're kicking things off with a presentation about the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, a globally recognized program that offers academically motivated students a rigorous, inquiry-based learning experience. 🌍✨

We're proud to offer IB for Grades 11 and 12 students at Aden Bowman and Bedford Road. Through the program, students develop strong academic and personal skills including critical thinking, communication, collaboration, organization, research, and problem-solving. 📖🧠🤝

We're pleased to welcome Kim Buglass, IB Coordinator at Bedford Road, and Jeff Spier, IB Coordinator at Aden Bowman, to share information on this special program. They’re joined by IB students who are sharing their own unique experiences. 🎤🎓

June 1 marked Convocation Day for the University of Saskatchewan College of Education! 🎓

We had the chance to celebrate members of the Saskatoon Public Schools family crossing the stage on this day, furthering their credentials as educators. 💚

Congratulations to all graduates as they take the next step in their education careers. Your passion, dedication, and commitment to students will help shape the future of learning in Saskatchewan. 🌟

Enjoy these photos of SOME of our recent grads! 👏

🎉👏 Big congratulations to Chris Clark, a teacher at James L. Alexander School, who was the keynote speaker at the 2026 Provincial Physical & Health Education Conference in Regina earlier this month! 🌟

Chris’s presentation, "Step Outside: Taking Physical Education Outdoors," shared practical strategies to help physical education teachers bring learning beyond the gym walls and into the outdoors. 🌳🏃‍♂️☀️ He also highlighted the many benefits outdoor PE can have for students and teachers alike.

We’re incredibly proud of the outstanding educators across Saskatoon Public Schools who inspire others every day. 💚 Their passion for teaching makes a difference in the lives of students and helps shape learning far beyond their own classrooms.

Way to go, Mr. Clark! 👏🎉🏅

A little update on the future city centre school - misiwe-kisik | One Sky! ⛅

The photos show, in order: the gym with stage on the left, the welcome circle, the main entrance area, and the textured building exterior.

Some of the timber you see has been salvaged from decommissioned Saskatchewan grain elevators. 🪵🌾 Not only does this look beautiful, it’s also a way to sustainably include a piece of local history right in the building! This unique process gives the space a calm and natural feeling.

Some windows are still covered and lighting is yet to be installed, but rest assured the space will have lots of natural light. Bonus: The third floor has a great view of the city!

Still to come: window installations, flooring, washes of colour over the exterior, and much more! 🚧

🏀🎉 Here’s some students from Greystone Heights School getting ready for the Saskatoon Mamba Be Well School Day Game on May 14!

After the game, we asked students what they enjoyed most — and there was no shortage of highlights! 🙌 From the exciting atmosphere and upbeat music 🎶 to the mascot antics, crowd competitions, and of course the basketball game itself 🏀🔥, students had an unforgettable experience.

Students also loved the Mamba school visits, where they had the chance to meet players, hear their stories, and be inspired. 💙

We’re so thankful for this partnership with the Mamba and wish the team the very best in their games this weekend and throughout their inaugural season! 🐍👏

Sunshine, shiny cars, and a great community turnout made for an amazing 14th Annual Show & Shine at Mount Royal Collegiate this weekend! ☀️🔥🚗

Thank you to everyone who helped make this long-standing event a success. 🌟

It’s track and field day season and, honestly, it’s hard to tell who looks forward to it more — the students or the staff. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Here we see the staff of Ecole River Heights School competing in the highly competitive, deeply prestigious, absolutely-no-fooling-around staff race event. 🏅

Visibility may have been questionable, but we’re happy to report no staff members were harmed in the making of this video. 😅👏

🏃‍♀️👟 Saskatoon Public students are getting ready to hit the pavement for Marafun!

With race day just around the corner, nearly 20 Saskatoon Public Schools teams are training for the youth-focused event connected to the Saskatchewan Marathon.

At Chief Whitecap School, close to 100 students have been practicing together throughout the spring — building endurance, confidence, healthy habits, and a love of movement along the way. 💙

“It's low cost, it's accessible, and it's something students can continue throughout their lives,” says Trent Johnston, a teacher and Marafun coach at Chief Whitecap School.

The 2026 Saskatchewan Marathon and Marafun take place Sunday, May 31. Best of luck to all our runners! 🏅
