The World Mining Competition is proud to share the following scholarship opportunities that may be of interest to our network of students:

The YMP scholarship fund is pleased to announce the continuation of its scholarship fund for 2022. This year the Fund has grown to over $200,000 within 42 individual scholarships ranging from $500 to $15,000 awarded to post-secondary students across Canada.

The scholarships span a broad range of disciplines (Engineering, Indigenous Studies, Sciences, Business) and are intended to assist students with an interest in working in the mining industry. Applications are open until August 31, 2022!

Congratulations to this years World Mining Competition Winners!

This year we had schools compete from across Canada and the United Kingdom and each team produced extraordinary solutions to our case. However, there can only be one winner!

Congratulations to Queen’s University for placing first, University of Manitoba for placing second, and University of British Columbia for placing third.

Thank you to all the teams for participating this year and we hope to see you again next year!

We are very excited to Introduce your 2021 Co-Chairs, Justin and Zach!

Justin Primeau first became involved in WMC back in 2019 as an ambassador with the University of Toronto, with this past year holding the role of VP Finance. He is currently a Bachelor of Commerce student majoring in Finance, and will graduate in December! He currently work as a Deputy Sheriff with the Government of Saskatchewan and recently completed a Co-operative placement last year with FCL. In his free time He enjoys golfing, reffing hockey, biking or running!

Zach Molnar also first became involved with WMC as an ambassador back in 2019. In the previous year, he took on the position of VP Logistics and decided that this year he would like to take on the position of co-chair. Zach is currently working on his Mechanical Engineering degree at the U of S and is also working on an internship with Nutrien. In his free time, Zach enjoys spending time with friends and family, and can often be found on the golf course!
