The Visual Arts Students' Union (VASU) strives to create a friendly and encouraging art community for all students, online and in the studio. We provide and promote numerous opportunities for students to showcase their artwork, learn new skills and become more involved with the art community in Saskatoon. Displaying digital artwork in the 292 gallery, we conclude the school year with our celebration of light. ⋆˙⟡ Join us for a screening of original student short films and award ceremony at 7:30pm in the 299 lecture hall, free and open for all to attend.

🖨️Hello everyone, in lieu of Solstice coming up we wanted to highlight XL our on campus printing service! ⋆˚࿔ᝰ.ᐟ

If you have ever wanted to include a digital print in a show or just to print your own work XL is the premier place to do that on campus.

They are located right here in Place Riel, room 124. Getting your work printed is as easy as an email! We use XL to print our posters and even our art book, they provide a wide variety of printing services, so please feel free to check them out!

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Second Take Collective, our resident film club here on campus to bring you Solstice, our digital media art show & film festival! 🎬✨

👒☀️With this collaboration we will be extending the deadline for submissions to Solstice until March 31st. Bring your photography, digital art, graphic design, animation, video media and more to submit for our celebration of light!

⋆✴︎˚｡⋆Those who participate will get to display their art in our 292 gallery either on the wall, projected, or in our film reel! 🎞️

The exhibition and matinee of our film reel will take place near the end of April so please stay tuned for updates on dates and showtime. Thank you so much to those who have submitted so far, we can’t wait to see you at Solstice! 💛

˙⋆✮ Jean-Sébastien Gauthier (BFA, MFA) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Saskatoon (Treaty 6 Territory) whose practice bridges sculpture, digital fabrication, and media arts, shaped by a lineage of monumental making and long-term collaborations with scientific and cultural institutions.

His work explores relationality, shared authorship, and digital folk aesthetics, creating accessible projects where technology, material, and collective presence meet.

Jean-Sébastien Gauthier is an interdisciplinary artist based in Saskatoon (Treaty 6 Territory) whose practice bridges sculpture, media arts, and digital fabrication, shaped by a legacy of monumental making and long-term collaborations with scientific and cultural institutions. Returning from the Quantum Studio residency, he will share insights from five weeks in Paris in October–November 2025, where his work engaged questions of relationality, shared authorship, and quantum-inspired forms.
