I asked our Co-Lab girls a question last week — ‘what do you long for from other women?’ and it was my own response that really struck me.

First off, I don’t think I ever gave myself permission to ask that question.

Secondly, my inner self said — affection

Wow, not only have I pushed away affection from my friendships because I felt undeserving or unloveable, but it’s also the thing I long for the most.

I realized it was my fear of rejection causing me to be guarded around receiving affection.
Will I be too much?
Will they leave me later?

I have had a few close friends in the past break thru these walls and I’ve only recently been able to name it.

I am so grateful for the safe women in my life who have helped me receive their love, and taught me that I am not only deserving of it — but easy to love.

We strive to create this space at The Well, where you can let down your guard enough to self reflect, and give yourself permission to ask for, and receive, what you’ve been longing for.

You don’t need more networking.

You need your people.

When we created The Well Directory, we weren’t just building a place for women to be found.

We were building a place for women to find one another.

A place where a photographer can meet a therapist.
Where a lawyer can connect with a nonprofit leader.
Where a founder can find a collaborator.
Where women can stop feeling like they have to build everything alone.

Every Directory member receives an invitation to our virtual Meet & Greets because visibility matters.

But community matters too.

✨ Our next Meet & Greet is June 10.

If you’ve been thinking about joining The Well Directory, now is a beautiful time to do so.

Because the best opportunities often begin with a simple conversation.

Comment “DIRECTORY” or send me a DM and I’ll send you the details. 🤍

When I walked into spaces where I didn’t feel comfortable, I would do one of two things:

1. Get quiet and leave fairly quickly
2. But more often than not I’d over perform, get loud and exhaust myself

Either way, it required self-abandonment in order to survive.
I would get tired really fast and need to leave.
I still do this in spaces I don’t feel safe.

But instead of continually entering into those spaces, I built a new one that supports our nervous system. A place where you can enter just as you are, with boundaries in place, and a thoughtful agenda.

It still isn’t easy to show up in this space either, it requires vulnerability, but the great part is — the other women aware being brave too and they’ll meet you there.

One thing I keep noticing in women’s spaces:

Many women deeply long for community…
while simultaneously protecting themselves from it.

And honestly?
That makes sense.

So many women have experienced difficult things like:
comparison,
competition,
exclusion,
judgment,
misunderstanding,
betrayal,
gossip,
or feeling “too much” in rooms with other women.

We cannot talk about women’s leadership without talking about relational safety.

Women do not thrive when they are constantly performing belonging.

We thrive when we feel:
safe enough to tell the truth,
allowed to be complex,
free to evolve,
and trusted enough to take up space without punishment.

There is room enough for all of us.
There always was.

Feminine leadership is not about becoming softer, smaller, quieter, or more palatable.

It’s about becoming more honest.

Honest about:
what your body is carrying,
what your nervous system is protecting,
what no longer aligns,
what pace is unsustainable,
what relationships feel reciprocal,
what success actually costs you,
and what kind of life you truly want to build.

Many women are leading while deeply disconnected from themselves.

Not because they are weak.
Because survival taught them to override their own knowing.

The work is not becoming someone else.
The work is learning how to hear yourself again.

People often ask me:
“…what is The Well exactly?”

It’s had a lot of reiterations over the years so I get it.
The truth is, it’s intentionally not just one thing.

The Well Collab was built because so many women were craving spaces that felt more honest, connected, collaborative, sustainable, and human.

Some women join through the Circle.
Some through the Directory.
Some through The Co-Lab.
Some through events or conversations or the podcast.

But underneath all of it is the same thing:

Women building lives, leadership, businesses, relationships, and communities in ways that actually align with who they are.

If you’ve been circling around The Well wondering where you fit — this is your invitation to begin somewhere.

There’s no “right” doorway in.

We asked our women why they joined the Directory and 86% said Community & Connection —

Not leads
Not visibility
Not exposure

Did it surprise me?
Not really, after 8+ years of intentional listening, this tracks.

They want to feel supported
To meet like-minded women
To build real relationships

And that is exactly what we do at The Well Collab, not transactional, but intentional.

This isn’t just a Directory.
It’s a network of women who value connection before competition.

We’re now opening Calgary and Toronto 🤍
