Thank You for every student You’ve called to this season of learning and growth. Give them insight as they study, courage as they step into new challenges, and hearts that remain attentive to Your voice.

Surround them with meaningful friendships, encouraging mentors, and opportunities to serve. Strengthen them when the work feels demanding, deepen their love for You and Your Word, and continue shaping them into faithful leaders who will build up Your Church.

May this be a year marked by growth—and all for Your glory.

In Loving Memory of Samuel Biro (1935–2026)

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Samuel Obed Biro, a beloved member of our Bethel Bible College / Horizon alumni family. Sam graduated from Bethel Bible College in Saskatoon in 1958 and went on to devote his life to ministry — pastoring churches across Saskatchewan and Ontario, serving as the Saskatchewan PAOC Native Ministries Director, and later as the Saskatchewan PAOC District Superintendent. Even in retirement on Vancouver Island, he continued to preach and serve his church community, right to the end.

Sam will be remembered for his sense of humour, his deep love for his family, his passion for gardening and reading, his love of a good theological discussion, and above all, his unwavering trust in the grace of Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 3rd at 2:00 pm at Comox Pentecostal Church, and will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. We warmly invite our alumni community to join in celebrating this extraordinary life and legacy.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Jan, his daughter and our incredible colleague, and to his wife Donna and their entire family, during this time of loss.
