Centennial Celebrations held May 22 -24, 2014

Why did we celebrate the Centennial in 2014, when the cornerstone to the building was laid on June 9th, 1913? Well, the building was not completed in 1913 and was only ready for students to begin classes in April of 1914 when six rooms were used as classrooms. Two more classrooms were opened in September 1914 to students and four rooms were rented out to the Normal School. So we decided to have this celebration at Buena Vista School in 2014.

The Buena Vista Garden Collective is hosting a celebration this afternoon, Sunday, September 14th from 2-4pm to celebrate the planting of some new trees and bushes! The street will be shut down to vehicles between 5th & 6th St on McPherson Ave. There will be buskers, vendors and fun activities for kids and adults alike! There will be food trucks on site! The Buena Vista Community Garden behind our beautiful Buena Vista school is unbelievably gorgeous! Congratulations to the team of volunteers for all their hard work over the past few years! You took an empty boulevard and transformed it!❤️If you are in Saskatoon you should go visit it.
