Talk about a good first impression! In his first career start on Oct 23, 2015, rookie QB Kyle Siemens completed 44 of 67 passes -- both program records -- for 520 yards, the fourth-highest single game total in Huskies history, and three touchdowns.

Siemens would go on to rack up 9,343 passing yards as a Huskie, which ranks second on the program's all-time list.

Obituary for Trevor Fleischfresser | Warren's Funeral Home 08/29/2025

Sending our deepest condolences to the family, friends and former teammates of Trevor Fleischfresser, who passed away this past weekend.

Trevor was a member of the Huskies very first Vanier Cup championship team in 1990, the first of his six seasons with the program.

Once a Huskie, always a Huskie. Rest in Peace, Trevor.

THROWBACK THURSDAY: For some reason, this pic of the 1991 Huskies is making us thirsty!

One year after winning the program's first ever Vanier Cup, the '91 team posted a 5-3 record in conference play and defeated the Manitoba Bisons 23-11 to claim their third straight Hardy Cup title before falling to Mount Allison in the Atlantic Bowl.

THROWBACK THURSDAY: Portrait of a Hec Crighton winner. QB Dave Pickett became the first -- and to date, only -- Huskie to claim national player of the year honours in 1973 after throwing for 2,251 yards and 16 TDs and leading the Dogs to a 6-2 record, their first winning season in six years.

No word on whether he won any awards for that hair. But he should have.

THROWBACK THURSDAY: You never forget your first! Rookie receiver Yol Piok hauls in his first TD as a Huskie in a 33-18 victory over the Regina Rams on Sept. 18, 2015. Piok also returned a kickoff 76 yards to set up another Huskies score in the contest.
