Hey Indigenous USask Students, we hope your spring is off to a great start!
To better support those of you during the spring and summer semesters, we have set elder support hours.
Mondays, Roland Duquette will be in from 1 - 3 PM
Wednesdays, Norman Fleury will be in from 1 - 3 PM
And Thursdays, Linda Young will be in from 1 - 3 PM
Please stop in if you are needing support with a smudge and share, or need some advice, or just wish to chat with one of the elders, we welcome you with kindness and a good heart.

Are you an Indigenous high school student curious about life at USask? Come join the Indigenous Summer Institute (ISI), a free program hosted at the University of Saskatchewan (USask) from August 10th-16th, 2026. It is designed to mimic campus life as a USask student. Participants can expect to sleep in dorms, eat at the University cafeteria and be exposed to various Colleges and Units through fun hands-on activities! πβοΈπ«

The purpose of the Institute is to increase exposure and access to pathways toward post-secondary education, establish mentorship opportunities for Indigenous students, increase cultural connections, strengthen communication, academic, and relationship building skills through shared experiences, and inspire high-school aged Indigenous youth to pursue post-secondary opportunities.

Hey Indigenous students!
Hot lunch support during finals is back!
We will be supporting you throughout finals with our Hot Lunch Program, Monday, April 6th to Friday, April 24th from 12:00β1:00 PM during weekdays.
You can come to the Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre, show the front desk the email you received from PAWS, sign in, and take a lunch to go or relax and enjoy your meal in the centre.
Reminder: You must show this email to our team to be eligible. While supplies last β limited quantities available.

What a great celebration it was during yesterday's last Soup & Bannock of the semester!
Its was such an honor to have Chester Knight bring his music into the Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre.
It was a treat to see all the students smiling from ear to ear enjoying the music and great energy Chester brought!
Huge thank you to both Brenda and Chester Knight for supporting our students!
